The 1998 is a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 15% Merlot, all picked from their estate vineyards. The majority of the fruit still comes from the Stelling Vineyard, located in Oakville, directly behind Far Niente. 1998 for Far Niente was a very small vintage, and quantity is down. The good news is the quality is as high as ever. The wine shows power, elegance and balance, that will benefit from five years in a cellar.
