Robert Parker Retires from the Wine Advocate

Yesterday it was announced that Robert Parker, considered by many to be the father of modern wine criticism, is hanging up his boots and retiring from his eponymous publication Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.  Parker is credited with creating the 100-point wine rating system that remains the industry standard to this day, and was also hugely influential in shaping the stylistics preferences of generations of consumers and trade professionals across the globe.  Parker will be succeeded by his team of 10 reviewers that currently generate a majority of the content in the Wine Advocate.
