New Arrivals from Domaine Roulot

Estate Wine Brokers is thrilled to present new arrivals from one of the greatest Chardonnay producers in Burgundy if not the world, Domaine Roulot. Originally founded in 1930, the story of the domaine really began when winemaker Guy Roulot married Geneviève Coche, adding a handful of top quality parcels to the family's holdings. Guy began vinifying and bottling these parcels separately, mastering the art of lieu-dit farming and influencing a generation of Merusault producers to follow suit. After Guy unexpectedly died in 1982, his son Jean-Marc eventually took over and continued developing the domaine's unique, game-changing style. While the appellation is famous for rich, concentrated whites, Jean-Marc remains committed to precise, chiseled Chardonnays with strong mineral backbones and racy acidity. The domaine is now amongst the few whose wines regularly sell out before they are even bottled, and a majority of its production is allocated to restaurants over bottle shops. On offer today are recent releases from the 2017 & 2018 vintages, with all wines listed at the lowest prices in the country:

Domaine Roulot Meursault 2018 750ml - $175
90 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate "The 2018 Meursault Village represents the usual blend of Clos de la Baronne, Crotot, Gruyaches and Sous la Velle, the latter being the most recent addition to the assemblage. Revealing aromas of pear, green apple, white flowers and fresh pastry, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and succulent, with a pretty and charming profile. As usual, it's the most immediate Meursault in Roulot's cellar. (WK)" (01/2020)

Domaine Roulot Meursault Clos des Boucheres 1er Cru Monopole 2017 750ml - $419
95 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate "The 2017 Meursault 1er Cru Clos des Bouchères is showing superbly from bottle, bursting with aromas of crisp green orchard fruit, white currants, dried flowers, nutmeg and fresh pastry. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and supple, with an enveloping but incisive profile, underpinned by electric acids and chalky extract. Confirming its status as the pretender to the throne chez Roulot, this is worth a special effort to seek out. (WK)" (11/2019)

Domaine Roulot Meursault Clos des Boucheres 1er Cru Monopole 2018 750ml - $405
93-95 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate "The 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Clos des Bouchères is also very charming this year, wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, white flowers, clear honey, almond paste and pastry cream. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, textural but incisive, with less flesh on its bones than the Charmes but a racier, more dynamic spine of acidity, concluding with a precise finish. This is another superlative Clos des Bouchères in the making. (WK)" (01/2020)
