23 Black-Owned Wineries Worth Supporting Right Now

Although diversity remains a problem in the wine industry as a whole, a recent Newsweek article highlights 23 African-American owned wineries that deserve serious attention, not simply because the wineries are black-owned, but because the wines themselves are world class.  Some of our favorites include NBA legend Dwane Wade's Wade Cellars in Napa Valley which produces Cabernets that stand shoulder-to-shoulder with many of the high cost cult producers in the region.  Also in Napa Valley, Brown Estate produces polished, elegant, and highly drinkable Zinfandels, not an easy feat in California.  Not mentioned in the Newsweek article is Maison Noir, a Willamette Valley producer of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and other varieties from Andre Mack, the former Head Sommelier at Thomas Keller's Per Se in New York City.  Click the link below to read the full Newsweek article:
