2015 Grand Crus from Domaine Ponsot

Domaine Ponsot is one of the greats in Morey-St.-Denis, and while the estate is known for many excellent wines, the big three are Clos de la Roche (where Ponsot is the largest landholder) and two tiny grand crus of Gevrey: Chapelle-Chambertin and Griotte-Chambertin. Estate Wine Brokers is delighted to present an offering of these iconic bottlings from the acclaimed 2015 vintage, each of which is listed at the lowest retail price in the country according to Wine Searcher:

Domaine Ponsot Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes 2015 750ml - $599 each
Domaine Ponsot Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes 2015 1500ml - $1,259 each
97 Points Decanter "Voluptuous red fruits on the nose, velvety and seductive. A sleek attack, opulent and luxurious with striking depth and concentration of fruit. The firm tannins are balanced by fine acidity, and this has fabulous balance and remarkable length. It will live for decades. Drinking Window 2021 - 2040. (SB)" (02/2017)

Domaine Ponsot Chapelle Chambertin Grand Cru 2015 750ml - $449 each
95 Points Decanter "A burly cherry nose, quite powerful. Rich, suave and very concentrated, but there's also a brightness that counters the very firm tannins. Grippy and even gawky now, but it has sufficient fruit to keep it in eventual balance. Very long finish. Drinking Window 2021 - 2035. (SB)" (02/2017)

Domaine Ponsot Griotte Chambertin Grand Cru 2015 750ml - $449 each
95 Points Decanter "Super-ripe and brooding nose showing black fruits. There is power and tension here. Very ripe attack, balanced and given precision by the exuberant acidity. Spicy, perky, and very long. Drinking Window 2020 - 2035. (SB)" (02/2017)

In addition to the above, 2015 appears to be the final vintage that was overseen by fourth-generation winemaker Laurent Ponsot prior to his departure from the family estate. These wines are sure to be a hot ticket for collectors, so act now to get started with an order.
