Current Stock: 1

This Grand Cru vineyard is located above Montrachet at an altitude of 870-950 feet. The wine was named "Chevalier," meaning "knight," due to the vineyard's high altitude, a historical reference to the honor given to the oldest son of a noble person in the Chevalerie Military Order. The soils are thin and composed of stony rendzinas derived from marls and marly-limestones, giving full-body and masculine characters to the wine with compelling depth, finesse and sophistication.

Ramonet’s Chevalier is located on the Northern side (Puligny-Montrachet) of the Grands Crus of Montrachet, and consists of five rows. The wine displays brilliance and expressiveness, a kaleidoscope of spice, floral, citrus, stone, and toasted bread notes which complement its racy middle weight, unlerlying minerality, and long intensity.  Vines were planted in 1972, bottled by the Domaine since 1998.
